It’s Your Holiday Too

Maybe it’s because I’m a mom or because I am parenting alone or just because I am a human. But I feel the need to make the holidays magical, even when I’m not feeling so magical myself.

I put a lot of pressure on myself. I wonder if I am doing enough. I start to lose sight of what the holidays are all about.

This time of year can be challenging for so many of us. It can be a reminder of loss and grief and financial struggles. It can be full of obligations. It can be lonely. It can be overwhelming. It can be sad.

You may find yourself taking on more than you need to this holiday season. You might be saying yes when you want to say no. You may be judging and doubting and shaming yourself for what you are and are not able to do.

This is your gentle reminder that it’s your holiday too.

This is a time for joy, not misery.

You are doing enough. You are giving enough. You are enough.

Give yourself the gift of kindness. Decline invitations. Set boundaries. Say no.

Aloha,

Suzanne
